Taking One for the Team

Poor Angel Moroni that stands atop the new Oquirrh Mountain Temple had an "incident" last Saturday. Last Saturday, we had an amazing rain/lightening/thunder/wind storm rip through South Jordan. As my parents and I sat on our back patio watching the wildness all around us, poor Angel Moroni was protecting us. He got struck by lightening as you can see by the black face, arm, and trumpet. After church the following day, my parents and I drove up to see him and I took this picture. As he is covered in gold (now cajun gold), he will have to have some repairs made to him before the Temple is dedicated in August. Way to protect us! Keep up the good work! If you would like to attend the Open House of the Oquirrh Mountain Temple (and it's free so why wouldn't you?), please get reservations at the following website: http://www.lds.org/reservations/0,10751,1619-1-561,00.html.

You HAVE to see this!

The long awaited Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House has finally begun. I have watched as this temple has been built over the past two years less than a mile from my house. My parents have both had opportunities to serve therein already. Last Wednesday, my parents and I took a tour of the newest House of the Lord. To say it was breathtaking, awesome, amazing, spectacular, immaculate, etc, would be an understatement. I'm so happy it is open to all the world to see at this time. If you would like to make reservations to see this magnificent edifice, please click http://www.lds.org/reservations/0,10751,1619-1-561,00.html. The Open House is free and open to all. Here's some pictures Mom took when we went.

(I actually took this picture a few months ago during construction.)

I am looking forward to going back to tour it again on Tuesday with some neighbors.
